The Magic of a Woman’s Touch

I had always heard from married people that 1+1, in that context, equals a lot more than just 2. And, I never really understood it until I met Sharon. Something was just different about her and how I felt about her and after we had been dating for a while I realized that I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to ask her to marry me. It’s a funny story for another time, but in the end, she said yes. And, amazing things started to happen.

I can’t say why. And, I can’t point to anything in particular, besides everything, but having Sharon in my life just made everything better. Having Sharon in my life made me better. I do really hope that I’ve had a similar effect on her, but the point for me right here and now is that Sharon transformed my life, made me successful, made me happy, made me fulfilled and just made my life far better. And it makes me think about something I realized a while ago, about women in general.

No matter the metric, no matter where in the world, when it comes to anything we care about as human beings, wherever women are doing better everything is doing better. The environment, animals, the economy, health, well being, children, men; where women are doing better everything is doing better.

It’s one of the reasons I love coming to WITI every year and sharing the best of what I have to offer with the amazing women here. I think we need more women’s voices. I think that empowering women empowers everything and everyone and I appreciate the opportunity to be here and make a difference.

So, I want to give a shout out to the organizers of WITI who put on an amazing event, year in and year out and I want to thank you for giving us a few days to focus on women and empowering them. What you focus on improves, so this is deeply important, meaningful work and I thank you for doing it and for allowing me to play a part.

I tell people I that I coach our clients and Sharon coaches me. And it’s true. I’m the leader at the front of the room and she’s the leader at the back of the room, without whom our business would never have happened.

And, I want to say here, to my wife Sharon, that I love you and I will never be able to thank you enough for the life you have made possible by loving me so much. You inspire me, I’m grateful beyond words for you and for our son. Thank you for bringing the magic of a woman’s touch to my life.
