Truly moving and effective pitching, internal & external communications, modern day media training and more.
It is the prerequisite for any further training with John. (An online version is available, for convenience, if preferred or desired as a supplement to the live training.)
All training is done in a very safe, supportive and respectful environment. John is very happy to do key person interviews so that he can better understand the audience, the need and the desired outcomes.
This is a 4 hour to 3 day training in Leadership Communication neuro-hacking; the human evolutionary biology and neurophysiology of effective human communication with an emphasis on leadership, connection, inspiration and results.
By diving deep on the biology of emotional intelligence, presence, connection, authenticity, and great leadership it generates powerful new contexts, mindsets, understandings and insights among your leaders which will dramatically elevate their public speaking, pitching, fundraising, and overall communication ability, and at the same time it gives deep realizations that translate into better overall people management, life and leadership abilities.
John’s training and coaching goes much deeper and is more broadly applicable and effective than people realize until they experience it. You can see this clearly in what people say about his trainings. The only real risk is in not giving it a try.
John’s rare public appearances are listed at our Facebook Events Page.
If you’re a co-working space, non-profit organization, TEDx organizer, or other venue or group that is interested in making the Speak Like a Leader Boot Camp available publicly in your community we would love to hear from you.

I’ve never seen so many Estonian people get that enthusiastic, and that engaged and passionate about public speaking.

John Bates is an absolute genius at helping transform our valuable life stories from irrelevant to irresistible! I have seen John in real time work with three different amazing individuals whose stories were just not being communicated in a way that anybody wanted to hear. In one hour all three were transformed from dull to dynamic! He's done the same with my story. I could hardly believe that. The story that I had gone over so many times, looking for ways to convey interest and relevance, turned into a cliffhanger even I wanted to know more about when John played his version back to me! I highly recommend John for anyone who wants to communicate their story in a dynamic, relevant way that will be heard by their audience.Posted on Antonio SanchezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've had the pleasure to attend John's sessions. They truly are memorable, encouraging and helpful, but more importantly backed up with real facts as well as the science and reasons behind it. Nah, I really don’t need a speaking coach”, I was thinking as Johnson & Johnson introduced me to John Bates. The coaching was part of JNJ’s support to prepare my pitch for one of their QuickFire Challenges. I wasn’t being arrogant. It’s just that after making hundreds of presentations and many speeches over my 37-year career in Life Sciences, I thought I didn’t need a coach. I was self-taught and spent time reading about effective speaking and even took a course on “How to present like Steve Jobs.” I had been pitching my company, Prapela, for about 6 months and had recently won the “Best Overall Presentation” award at a big event in Boston. Surely my time would be better spent on something else. Still, my conscience and my respect for JNJ told me to take the course along with the other participants in the Challenge. I completed each online training session and then participated in a few video conference calls with the class and John.”
Wow, John and his course was a game changer for me and Prapela. John’s course is way beyond the basics of slide content, posture and delivery. You learn the importance and the skills of connecting with your audience. For me, I discovered how my traditional emphasis on facts and putting everything in chronological order got in the way of being authentic. And I also met a terrific, positive person – John is simply a great coach and his course is flat out fun. “Yeah, I really did need a speaking coach”, I was thinking as I held the Winner’s trophy for JNJ’s Next-Gen Baby Box Challenge. Thanks to John and Johnson & Johnson, Prapela is raising funding and on a pace to introduce the Prapela SVS next-gen baby box in 2018.”
